TRAIN RIDES, Little Blue will be operating for the enjoyment of big and small, young and not so young we cater for them all, only $2 per ride, entrance off Taui St. Weather Permitting. Next major Event at the Park
6th February 2012 - Kiwi Culture Day 10.00am to 3.00pm This is going to be a fun fill day for the whole family which is to celebrate the diverse culture of our community. There will be performances and displays from different cultural and community groups, loads of free activities, food stalls and community stalls. A day that will embrace whakawhanaungatanga. [more]

Winter in the Park
July saw another successful community day hosting the “Winter in the Park” event which is to be another annual event. Once again this was a joint community co-ordinated event with displays put on by the Tractor and Machinery Club, the Rotorua Vintage and Veteran Car Club and other Community Groups. [more]

Variety Mini Bash
On Saturday 3rd Sept the Trust had the opportunity to host the Variety Mini Bash at the park, which saw Ronald McDonald, other well known factious characters and over 20 decorative Bash Vehicles invade the Park on their charity run. It was a fun afternoon which attracted a large crowd to enjoy the fun activities of participants in the Bash, free giveaways and water fights between themselves and our local Ngongotaha Fire Brigade. Keep Rotorua Beautiful award
A spruce up of the Ngongotaha Rail Park has won the trust which controls it a prestigious award. Rotorua Ngongotaha Rail Trust general manager Sharon Fleet said she was thrilled to win the Keep Rotorua Beautiful Supreme Community Award 2011 on Tuesday night. "We're thrilled to bits that someone has nominated us." "We've taken the park from a mediocre looking area to something the community can be proud of." In the last year or so Mrs Fleet said the grounds had had a lot of work done to them. [more]

The beginning of an exciting project.Early October 2010, the remains of #1582 loco arrived on site and was placed outside the clubrooms. On the following Saturday work started on removing parts off the chassis for refurbishment or temporary storage. Student Day on July 4th 2010

Student Day on July 4th 2010
The Rotorua Ngongotaha Rail Trust invited 88 International visiting Students from Auckland to have a work day at the Park. This involved painting, cleaning, clearing of rubbish,discovering how the gazebos went together and painting some of the rolling stock. A great clean up day. It wasn't all hard work as they had train rides. They had no idea we existed and there was a lot of interest shown by a great busload of persons.Thanks guys and girls. Please see photos below. [more]
